Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a quarter finger khaki head that dissipates to sparse patches with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, vanilla, nuts and milk chocolate; vanilla forward.
Flavor follows, with dark toasted malt, vanilla, hazelnuts and cocoa, light bakers chocolate lingers after taste. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. The vanilla is clear on opening the can and the nutty vanilla wafts over the glass. The taste is rather more restrained, although there is plenty of vanilla, it is well balanced with the authentic tasting hazelnut and a little bit of chocolate. Although the description mentions this as a dessert stout, it is one of the dessert inspired ones with a modest sweetness that is not cloying and easy to manage throughout the 16 ounce can size. A little smokiness from the malt creates an interesting finish. A pleasant and quite drinkable adjunct stout.

The beer pours a rich black coffee color with a minimal fizzy beige head of .5 cm. This foam is a thin edge layer soon after the pour.
Aroma is definitely on the sweeter side, as expected, with some light chocolate and vanilla mixing but hazelnut cream is the dominant scent. no hop character and no booze.
First sip reveals a medium to thicker body but very smooth texture and extremely fine and fizzy carbonation. Beer drinks easier than it should based on ABV and style. Id like a little more heft in the body.
Flavor is the nose predictions with some mild milk chocolate, getting overtaken by vanilla and the hazelnut cream lingers after each sip. Again, no hop character and the ABV is well hidden.
Overall this is a good beer and is pretty much what I expected. If you like hazelnut in beer you will enjoy this one.
