Washington Wizzle TriticaleWine is a project in coordination with Linc Malt out of Spokane and features Palouse grown base and specialty malt in tandem with a hefty dose of triticale (a wheat/rye cross)from Ritzville, WA and was hopped with Chinook from Roy Farms in Moxee, WA. After a 24 hour boil the beer was fermented with our house English Ale yeast strain and fermented fully before resting for over 2 years in two TOTAL bourbon barrels, an Elijah Craig 18yr and an Elijah Craig Double Oaked barrel. We then hand bottled 408 500ml bottles and left it to bottle condition for 2 months.

Blackish brown opaque pour, tan cap. Smells of robust barley with big dark grain, earth with big rustic bourbon backing. Taste is very much the same, very bitter and almost medicinal, char and wood carry more than booze, cola aftertaste. Feel is lighter bodied but very robust, grainy, chewy and cool. Interesting experiment but a little harsh
