Hot weather Hefe. Banana and clove on a tropical island as they should be. Thin body, dry finish, longer sips in the sun.

16 oz can into a weizen glass. Cloudy bright golden color with a large eggshell head that laid down a few rings as it went. Spicy aroma of cloves and banana bread. Starts to fall apart in the taste -- dry, unpleasantly bitter astringency with virtually no complementary hefe flavors. Medium feel but lacking in body. A rare miss from AH.

Canned 6/4/24. Based on 2021 reviews, this year's release doesn't strike me as an improvement and probably lacks the life of the first release. That doesn't mean that I wouldn't have this again... and I certainly will since I just bought a 4-pack. My fuller review is forthcoming, particularly when I have Sun with a meal of summer fare.

Canned 6/7/23; drank 6/30/23 @ the Yarchives.

Mostly opaque bright orange appearance.

A rough pour yielded a small off-white head; almost no lace.

Banana, clove & faint orange notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Mild orange & banana flavors up front; strong dry wheat & clove flavors on the finish.

Not real balanced; the fruitier elements are overpowered by dry earthiness.

Not one I'll seek out again.

Served from the tap in a taster glass at the brewpub.

Donovan caught the wind, why shouldn't I try for my own bit of glory? Anyway, this stuff pours a partly cloudy sunrise golden-amber topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises mild orange zest, banana peel, cracked wheat, clove, lemon peel, and a touch of sweet flowers. The taste brings in more of the same, an ever-so-slightly hoppier version than your classic ur-hef. The body straddles the border between hefty light and light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, a pretty nice hef, something we need more of 'round these parts.

Lord a pretty clear golden color. Thick velvety white head. Aroma is clove, banana and bubble gum (in the order of prominence). Taste follows suit with clove being dominant up front followed by banana and bubble gum. Spritzy, bright carbonation. A tad thin in the body, but I prefer that personally. One of the better American brewed Hefeweizens I’ve had - this is up in that top tier.

Had on tap. Mostly clear light brown pour with a finger of white bubbly foam and walls of lacing. Aromas of wheat, bubble gum, orange peel and white pepper. Taste is more focused on the bubble gum more than anything, wheat and lemon support. The problem is the body is watery in the middle of the sip, wheat is too thin and there seems to be no earthy spice to cut the finish. Good for a hot day though
