Canned 11/13/24, Art History re-released this aptly-titled brew with perfect timing. (I know, no politics on BA... but History is OK, right?) Anyhow, the coincidence and analogy is too tight to ignore and to not speak up. So everyone, speak your piece now or forever hold it because I doubt you get another chance to speak truthfully.
That said..... I bought my Strange Days at Beermiscuous (my favourite beer bodega or ale apothecary for Chicagoland micros.) Strange Days Indeed Looks slightly above the average for its NEIPA brethren (nice foam, but more activity would be appreciated.) Strange Days Smells better (a nice citrus and sweet malt.) Well-balanced throughout in that the hops do not have the last say, as do too many NEIPAs that finish with a bitter after-taste. Medium-mouthed and soft and refreshing.
I've had 20 uniques from this five year old. I consider Art History to be a master lager brewer (and has some of the most beautiful cans in the business.) But with this NEIPA, they prove to me that they are proficient in American Pale Ale styles and approach them with a very balanced perspective. They also have great timing in what will soon become one of the most challenging disruptions in U.S. history. Long Live Beer !
