Served in 14oz goblet. Poured a very pretty, bright, clean, and clear copper color with 1/4 inch of white head that had low retention and light lacing.
The aroma had a light touch of rye, a very noticeable sweetness, and just a light wisp of earthy hops. Very similar on the tongue. For a rye beer the rye was very light, and wasn't bold enough to overcome the very strong sweetness. Again, just a hint of hops around the edges.
The body was medium-light, smooth, and had a very sweet finish that lingered. Drinkability was hurt by the overwhelming sweetness of the beer. I wouldn't enjoy having another. Overall, maybe this is a first attempt at a rye beer. I think they should use rye more boldly, and tune down the sweetness a few notches.
