Sampling a 16 oz can poured at cellar temp into my .5L dimple mug. No decipherable date stamp on can.
The beer has been in my cellar for about 2.5 weeks or so.
The beer pours a slightly turbid brown color, sort of murky in the glass. Not very lager-esque quality here in my opinion.
A short live fluffy beige head foams up 1 cm and fades to a wispy edge layer and not much else.
Aroma is a little bit of caramel and some light cocoa powder, dark bread and some grassy hop notes. Nose is okay, didnt expect the cocoa powder.
First sip reveals a light body and very fine tingly carbonation. Texture is smooth and the beer drinks easy.
Flavor is some caramel and a bit of bread crust, rolls to lemon and grass and finishes sort of astringent and bitter. Also very dry finish.
No hint of ABV anywhere. Also not at all what I expected from the beer, and mostly not in great ways. The murkyness sort of set the tone for me. Wouldnt do this one again.

16oz can split between a pair of WABL sample glasses. There is a date stamped on the label, but I can't read the month, so that's not very helpful. Bought it at the brewery not too long ago.
Pours a hazy dark amber or light brown, thin, wispy head, moderate active carbonation. Smell is lager funk, toasty bread, a little dough. A little bit of grass with a slight twist toward lemon.
Taste is more hops-driven than I would have expected, earthy/grassy bitterness is pretty dominant, on top of toast and grain. It's pretty full-flavored.
Mouthfeel is a little bit on the heavy side, not oppressive, just not light. Overall, it's an interesting and reasonably good beer, but not what I think of when I think of dark Mexican-style lager. Lighter body and clearer appearance would get it closer.
