Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a hazy, medium golden amber with a fine, one finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of bready, lightly grainy malt, clove, Belgian yeast and light citrus hops.Flavor is pale and grainy malt, citrus hops, lemon rind, yuzu, saison style yeast, dried summer field grass and light clove; peppery and herbal. Great summer herb finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A fun take on a Belgian ale. The Belgian bones are all here, with Belgian yeast that leans to farmhouse with a touch of funk, light fruity yeast but with some domestic citrus hops and very pleasant dried summer herbs. There is a mild medicinal touch that reminds of some of the Fantomes I've had lately, but not as intrusive. Not quite traditional, but a fine, great to drink riff on the Belgian pale style. Nicely done.
