brujos collaboration, dope can art, thanks to my buddy for sharing, really neat beer, huge and seemingly huge just for the sake of it, but as these go, this is a winner. the anchovy hops make it exciting to me, and with the other varietals in here, this takes on some real tropical candy vibes, super unique hop profile and the beer is clean and not sloppy for what it is, a rarity for the strong hazy ones. this is light orange colored, frothy headed from the can, two inches of white bubbles on top, uniform haze but not crazy dense, creamy looking, good carbonation apparent. melon rind, mandarin oranges from the can, green grape, pineapple candy, and coconut water notes from the hops, slightly grassy but i wouldnt call it green or overdone, the yeast is near neutral and the ferment is rather clean, and this has some light spiciness overall, good grain balance, and a real intrigue. the flavor follows the nose, tons of citra is obvious in this now too, but the anchovy is what makes it sexy, cotton candy and taffy notes but the beer isnt sweet overall, the grain actually stays well out of the way in this for the most part, good structure and it helps keep the alcohol presence down, but this is all about the hops, off the charts freshness, oily on the palate, oddly clean at the end for what it is, key lime, french melon, and orange wine. i love the way this warms up too, never getting boozy, this is when its high quality and uniqueness are both most evident. best imperial ipa type ive had in a long time, especially at this strength. the hype around fast fashion is real, ive liked each beer ive had from them, and its not just trend chasing stuff, much as it kind of is, the beers are killer. this was a treat, and anchovy is the future!
