Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a thin, dark khaki head that dissipates to patches with slight lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt,vanilla, milk chocolate and coffee. Flavor is dark toasted malt, unsweetened chocolate, vanilla and a little coffee in the finish. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. A quite nice chocolate and vanilla stout that is surprisingly dry for its heft and density; somewhat of a robust dry export stout profile. The chocolate is interesting, intense like a 90% cacao bar, which is not a common chocolate profile in stouts, but fits well with this dryish one. Nice change of pace for a big stout and fine chocolate and vanilla notes. ABV well covered. Nicely done. Unexpectedly creepy can illustration.
