Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug.
Appearance: rich dark brown hue with just a little haze and a finger of frothy tan foam atop.
Smell: malt is lightly sweet with a nice mix of toasty, caramelly, and just a little bit of chocolate flavor. There’s also a light dose of yeastiness here; I like it.
Taste: caramelly, toasty, nutty malt flavors, along with a mild yeastiness and a light bitterness. A nicely-balanced schwarzbier.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: super quenching and drinkable; there’s good balance here and a light feeling, even through the dark malts. I dig it!

16oz can. No dating information found.
Dark brown colored body, with a cola brown back lit edge. One finger of beige colored head, and this remains as a full cap and high ring. Leaves behind a partial lacing wall.
Aroma of smoked malts. Char and dark fruit, along with caramel and vanilla.
Taste is more sweet than the nose. Flavors of caramel, chocolate, vanilla, and black licorice. Mellow roasted malt aftertaste.
Medium mouthfeel. Has a slight metallic note. Some cream in the texture. Excellent carbonation.
The nose is smoky but the taste is pure dark lager (sweet, roasted, caramel, vanilla).
