Poured from 16oz can into my BeerAdvocate teku. No date on the can.
Appearance: light straw hue with a dash of haze and a thick cap of rocky ivory foam atop.
Smell: grassy, springy, noble hop aroma atop a malt base that showcases rice the right way. Sometimes rice can lend this "plasticy" aroma to a beer, and that's either quite mild here or very well masked by the hops. Either way, it's very enticing.
Taste: the rice in the malt asserts itself a little more here, but it actually works very well with the grassy hops. Without the rice, this would be a lot like an Italian pilsner. I'm really enjoying it.
Mouthfeel: light body with a good carbonation and decent creaminess.
Overall: this is super refreshing and richly flavored for the style -- whether you want to call it a Japanese rice lager or some variety of pilsner. Crushable.
