The one-upsmanship of fruitiness leads Atrium Brewing down a path of raspberries and blackberries backed with vanilla.
The very berry Berry Berry Boy first gets going with a neon pink, soft mauve and nearly fuchsia pour resting underneath a loosely packed sparkling froth. The fruity perfume swirls with radiant berries, hints of wine and soothing cream softness ahead of a first sip of cream candy, sorbet and sourdough.
As the sweetness relaxes, a more succinct tartness of green apple, lime, lemon, gooseberry and white grape usher in a brisk and refreshing acidity. Light bitterness steps in late as the ale shifts toward a more winey and cidery tone for a finish of light vinous tannins and berry juices.
Medium bodied, refreshing and quite tasty, the vanilla does little more than plumping up the fruit flavors to an elevated branch-ripe intensity as the session finishes with a quick and nearly winey after palate.

1 PINT can
Served in an oversized, stemless wine glass
This beer pours a murky purple color and is topped with a few inches of pink tinged tan head that leaves nice lacing.
It smells like red berries, vanilla, and granola/graham cracker.
Berry flavor upfront followed by vanilla, and finally, some granola. It has a decent berry tartness.
Medium bodied with a slightly dry mouthfeel
I like kettle sours. I am not especially fond of kettle pastry sours. The vanilla and granola smell and taste remind me of a dessert. Of course, it is supposed to. I like fruit sours, not dessert sours. I mean, it's okay. Just not my preference.
