Modeled after the irresistible peach ring candies, Atrium finds inspiration in the sweet and tart treats when devising a sour fruited ale.
Cloudy and golden straw, Peach Ringer Boy builds a part fizzy, part frothy cap before reeling in the nose with a tantalizing aroma of peach, cider, wine, fresh dough and berry. As its sweet sourness splashes the tastebuds, the soft breadiness of sourdough lays a malty and cereal-like foundation before the brunt of acidity pops with green apple, lime, lemon and gooseberry. An overcast of peach rides alongside a candied sweetness for an interplay of malt and acidotic balance. Trending tart but no full-blown sour, the session is crisp, pleasant, refreshing and downright drinkable, right up to its aftertaste of sourdough and peach skin.
Its an intriguing beer that shows a little whimsy, nostalgia and playfulness all while refreshing the palate and quenching the thirst.
