Taking the ultimate summer treat of banana split and creating sour beer, Atrium Brewing teams up with Tanscend Beer Crafters for a heavy, sweet and sour dessert for adults.
Pouring a deep lavender and medium mauve hue, the densely packed hues of Strawberry Banana Milkshake Boy patiently releases a creamy foam with a strikingly bold and fruit filled scent with suggestions of tartness and cream. Sweet once on the tongue, the early taste is rife with cereal, heavy cream, marshmallow and smoothie. As the underling acidity brings its own fruit flavors of lemon, lime, green apple and gooseberry, the tartness is the balancing agent against the linger of sweet cream and macerated banana and strawberry for a sweet, tart combination to close.
Full bodied, pleasantly cloying and doing the unexpected- showing that banana split can be sour and still be enjoyable.
