Just like an old '90's reboot, Atrium brewers keep runnin' up that hill, but this time it's for vine ripened strawberries and vanilla beans to give their IPA the milkshake makeover. It's all downhill from here.
The Strawberries & Cream version of Steep Hill hits the glass with a mildly foggy golden pour, teeming with bubble that fuel a creamy but short-lived froth. As the bubbles pop, the nose fills with strawberry, cereal, vanilla, citrus and herb immediately. Sweetness is more of a shortcake and honeysuckle blend, laying a foundation of strawberry shortcake with it's cereal grain influence. Growing hops share a complement of grapefruit, orange and lime for the strawberry additions before trending drier and more bitter for that quintessential Steep Hill hoppy finish.
Medium bodied and finishing with mild berry tartness, hop bitterness and a soothing vanilla roundness, the session is a fruitier IPA with a mild milkshake factor.
