Had this on tap with their marvelous pizza last week & had to return for a crowler. 750ML dated 3/27/21 split with my wife.
Light gold in the sunlight winks at me from the glass like a classic WC IPA. No orange juice in sight. The smell is tame. Light malts &….hops? Is that a smell?
The Pine Barrens is a welcome change but hit the malt-bong a touch too hard. Nice bitterness is cut hard by a serious malt presence like Matt Gaetz in the presence of an underage orphan. Citrus, pine, perhaps a little mango, but a refreshing lack of tropical vacations in my mouth. Let’s drink more of this.
Nothing special except that it’s 2021 & NE IPAs have taken over the world. I’d drive to get a good West Coast IPA like this. Wait, I did today, in fact.
