Solid beer - good roasted malt notes, a little graininess, almost chocolate and almost smokey, but just short of both. Looking for a little more yeast characteristics; it’s kind of a cleaner, slightly more dry and light version of a black ipa. Carb is moderate to high…body is light side of moderate. Though I’ve now had a decent number of these, I’m not sure I totally get the style.

Crowler can purchased at the taproom. Label has fill date marked as '12-27 (2022). Label has the names of these other breweries: Slice Beer Co, Arrow Lodge Brewing, and Forager Brewery.
Ruby brown colored body. Light tan, small bubble head. Leaves partial walls of lacing on the non-drinking side of the glass.
Aroma of toasted dark bread malts, with a touch of chocolate.
Taste is dark bread with a sweet touch, spicy hops, and a little burnt husk and chocolate. Moderate bitterness from the hops. Lots of dark bread malts in the aftertaste, with a touch of coffee.
Medium mouthfeel. Smooth texture, but with a bite. The spicy hops create some tongue numbness. Very good carbonation.
Higher levels of dark malts and spicy hops than in other dark beers. Not too sweet, really allows the malts to shine.
