Lived Short, a collab with our mega pals over at MadeWest Brewing in Ventura CA, is a BIG fluffy DIPA built with tons of flaked and malted oats, wheat, and Pilsner malt. After laying down that HEADY base we utilized Citra & Simcoe in the whirlpool to set the stage for a MEGA dry hop of Nelson, Citra, Simcoe, and Mosaic. The sum of these parts has flavor/aromas of sweet papaya, jackfruit, kiwi & KUSH.

A follow-up to their collaboration with MadeWest's "Short-Lived" series using a different recipe. Citra and Mosaic in the whirpool, and double-dry-hopped with Citra, Simcoe, Nelson, and CTZ.
Packaged on 3/29/22 - consumed on 4/26/22. Poured from a tall-boy can into my Bruery tulip.
Pale, milky, jonquil body with a finger of soft peak foam. Fine, sandy lacing; faint legs; decent retention.
Herbal/tropical/citrus nose - moderately dank with notes of marijuana and forest floor as well.
Fruit forward, with hints of mango, guava, berry, melon, and tangelo. The malt bill adds balance and complexity with hints of toast, lemon, shortbread, and grain (wheat, malted oats, and pils malt all contribute). Moderate but persistent bitterness with lime, passion fruit, and grape notes emerging from the medium-dry finish. Long, evolving aftertaste as the malts and hops fade in counterpoint.
Creamy, medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation, mild astringency, and low heat.
Not as "juicy" or as cloudy as many hazy IPAs, but the depth of flavor is excellent.
