Particle Drift is a cross-dimensional IPA beer brewed with a soft base of flaked and malted oats, as well as malted and unsalted wheat. Hopped in the whirlpool with Strata and Simcoe to keep the hop flavor and aroma high as a kite. Post-fermentation this beer was double dry-hopped heavily with more Simcoe, Strata, and Nelson. This combination of hops leads to bright aromas of cantaloupe, candied orange peel, pineapple and guava.

Pours super hazy golden with white foamy cap that laces to sides of glass as it warms. Notes of grapefruit citrus, orange peel and perky hoppy (slightly bitter) notes that tickle the tongue….nice summer daytime wheat hazed IPA.

Glass: North Park 9-oz. butterscotch snifter glass
Price: $4.59
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Sept. 21, 2022
Consumed: Sept. 22, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Aug. 16, 2022
Went to Windmill Farms specifically for Dino Park, a collab between Toppling Goliath and North Park. Unfortunately it wasn’t there so instead I bought 12 singles and a 6-pack of Aurora Hoppyalis. An online description for this one was “Particle Drift is a cross dimensional IPA beer brewed with a soft base of flaked and malted oats, malted wheat, and unsalted wheat. This combination of hops leads to bright aromas of Cantaloupe, candied Orange peel, and Pineapple Guavas.”
Poured a medium golden hazy color with two fingers of white frothy head. Could see plenty of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass at different speeds. World-class spiderweb foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled orange, pineapple, Nelson, grapefruit, papaya, guava, Simcoe, dank weed, melon and strawberry. Was surprised that Citra wasn’t part of this beer. Just as good from the can with more orange, pineapple and guava. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste was just a tier down from the smell. In order got orange peel, pineapple, grapefruit, melon, papaya, guava, Nelson, Simcoe, black pepper, dank weed, Strata, strawberry, bubblegum and hints of passion fruit. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Soft carbonation. Abrupt finish. (Feel - 4.00)
This was a pretty good beer overall. Glad I got to try it. (Overall - 4.00)
