"Among The Willows is our flora/human hybrid West Coast IPA. Bright but with a touch of lupulin haze, aromatic, soft bitterness, and JUST a touch of malt - the way a WC IPA should be. Hopped heavily, like a tree humanoid should be, with Citra, Strata, and Motueka. These hops together create complex aromas and flavors of dank noble fir, lemon beebrush, sage, and orange marmalade. A throwback, of sorts, to the tree human hybrids of the past…"

Glass: Melvin 14-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $4.29
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: March 25, 2022
Consumed: March 25, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Feb. 22, 2022
Grabbed a bunch of There Does Not Exist and Burgeon beers, and a few others on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Untappd description was “Among The Willows is our flora/human hybrid West Coast IPA. Bright but with a touch of lupulin haze, aromatic, soft bitterness, and JUST a touch of malt - the way a WC IPA should be. Poured a medium yellow clear color with three fingers of rocky-to-frothy white head. Could see just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. World-class uneven foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Strata, grapefruit rind, pine, grass, weed, Citra, orange zest, lime, lemon and black pepper. Better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted about as good as the nose. Strata led the way, followed by grapefruit rind, pine, black pepper, earthy malt, weed, grass, Citra, orange zest, lime, lemon and floral. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Just a really nice West Coast IPA. Outstanding overall. (Overall - 4.00)
