Voidwalker is a double milk stout that is an homage to the flavors that you would find in mole or a Mexican hot chocolate. We conditioned the beer on Ghanaian cacao nibs, Saigon cinnamon, and hand cut ancho chili peppers. The finished beer is rich and creamy with notes of baker’s chocolate, subtle pepper flavor (but no real heat) and some spice from the cinnamon. Note: For people who are worried about heat from the peppers, this beer is not hot. The peppers and cinnamon provide a very, very soft heat but give more pronounced cinnamon and pepper flavor (without being vegetal).

I was excited about what this beer could be, but was disappointed. The ancho chili spice is overpowering and the heat hides a lack of actual flavor.

Voidwalker pours black, with a small but massively lacing and long-lasting head. The aroma has notes of chocolate and cinnamon. The flavor is sweet, hints of pepper, with just the slightest heat, lots of chocolate, and a hint of cinnamon. Good feel. Overall, it's big flavored, big milk stout, sweeter, and those flavors stick out.
