2024 vintage (released in 11/2024); consumed on 10/24/2025
Pours a supremely oily, jet-black gloss capped with a slow-forming, short-lived quarter-finger of mocha-hued foam, fading quickly to a blank surface, near-imperceptible collar, and no lacing whatsoever holding to the walls of the glass.
Aromas of immense oak tannins are almost pungent, yielding a heavy char producing dark cherry residuals as a fragrant, layered woodiness dominates.
Taste opens to dark cacao against a burnt oak prickle, leaving hints of raisin and dark cherry meandering about an airy smoke lingering persistently as a charry toffeed note informs the finish.
Mouthfeel brings a full body and a modest puff of carbonation, dissipating to silky textures drying steadily over the mid-palate; a deft stickiness cut with pillowy char and easygoing tannins settle into the back end and a gentle warmth finishes.
Intense and rich with a traditionalist approach to char; the barrel impact is pushed to the limit, with just enough leeway for malted detailing to hold space among the vast oak overreach.

Obsidian black with a few dark brown bubbles sporadically appearing on the surface.
Though its viscosity perhaps teeters into motor oil, as chocolate syrup meets Oreo char with a hint of Raisinets, it somehow seems almost balanced, being only lightly sticky, but surprisingly mature.
