Unfiltered golden body. Smell is mostly crisp lemon, grass and grapefruit. Light toasted biscuit, citrus, grapefruit and a bit of floral bitterness on the backend. Tastes like an IPL, to be honest. Medium lighter bodied, crisp with a medium dryness.

Good color and clean head. Not much on the aroma end. First taste is very Germanic tasting, then a mild and dry fruity flavor to the malt. Well-crafted, with no flaws but we were underwhelmed by this one; there are plenty of others which are either closer to the the Euro style or are clearly all American. This one tries to straddle both and misses the mark.

16-ounce can purchased at ABV Public House in Hillsboro, OR. Poured into a nonic half-pint. Canned on 01/28/2021.
Look:
Lithospheric Pils is a bright straw color, and crystal clear. The head is white and slightly loose, and quickly shrinks to a heavy ring of foam. Not much lacing.
Smell:
The nose is quite fruity, mostly peach with some raspberry in the background. There is also a little grainy malt underneath, along with a touch of sulfur.
Taste:
The label calls this a "modern pilsner," which seems to translate as a German-style pilsner with the floral and herbal notes replaced with fruit. The beer starts with a stone-fruit character and a brief zing of citrus. I also get a rather astonishing flavor of red Swedish fish, although I got less of this as the beer warmed. Malt is clean and doesn't draw a lot of attention to itself underneath the hoppy fruitiness. Bitterness is moderate from beginning to end. Finish is dry.
Feel:
Body is between light and medium. Moderate carbonation.
Overall:
ForeLand Lithospheric Pils is well made, crisp, and rather moreish. I imagine it's a good display of German Callista hops and American Idaho Gem hops. If you like them, you might like this. While I don't think it's a particularly great German-style pilsner, I have no problem calling it an interesting take on the style. Worth trying.
