this is fantastic, even if my can does not seem supremely fresh, this is still enjoyable, really well built and hopped, love the profile there, the packaging is cool, and its neat to see these guys in distribution a little bit, like what they do. strata and chinook come together nicely here, bitterness is mild, this is indeed the new west coast, paler and easier on the grain side, hoppy but without the bite, very very drinkable for being as flavorful as it is, the right level of refinement too, which is to say its clean without being filtered to oblivion, smart in every respect. golden colored pour with a puffy white head from the can, relatively clear but not perfectly so, which is fine, lots of bubbles keeping it moving, and in both aroma and flavor the hops hit as fresh and oily, center of the sensory field to me, maybe a little brighter in the nose, with equal parts fruitiness and dankness, weedy but also citrusy, pretty highly saturated, i get candied lemon, purple haired sativa, fresh orange, a hint of peach nectar too, and some pine sappy later woodsy character, the chinook bringing that. super nice to drink on, long on the palate without being sweet, good grain balance with just a little bit of depth to it and a honey note, smooth but also nice and bubbly. this is the modern ipa, seems like most dry hops here, lots of flavor but nothing forced. love the aftertaste on this one, and could imagine it popping off even harder brand new. hope to find out. worth picking up if you see this around, i think the hop combination is unique and the quality is great.

Very copper in color. Nice plump white head. Nose is piney as it should be. Taste is also piney. Nice slightly bitter finish. I prefer a bit more bitterness though. Overall good beer.

Clear golden brew with plenty of foam in the New Belgium snifter. Sudsy and lively on the tongue. Light aroma of grain, straw, and strawberry. Hints of pear and green melon. Just a hint of woody bitterness in the aftertaste. Hops are listed as Strata and Chinook.

This is really smooth and luscious-- maybe it's the effect they are after with the "Cold IPA" notion. But cold out the 16 oz can it's extremely drinkable and one of my favorite IPAs so far this year.
