Pint on draught at the brewery. It pours a bright, rusty-orange color. The initial fluffy, milk-white head dissipated slowly leaving minimal lacing. There is the distinct smell of honey on the nose, along with lite toasted grains. The local honey is evident in the first sip - fresh and sweet. The base ale is solid. The recipe is simple but effective. There is a pleasing dose of pepper and spice at the finish. This is one 'honey" beer where you can really taste the honey. The mouth feel offers a good, solid body but is lite and easily drinkable at 5.5% ABV. Overall, Investment Grade is a delightful beer and I commend Bull N Bear for brewing this somewhat obscure style. The whole exceeds the sum of its parts.
