On tap at the brewery. Pours orange with white head. Aroma is of herbal hops, tropical fruit and bready malt. Body is medium and slightly crisp. Taste is of herbal hops, tropical fruit and caramel malt. Finish is long and dry. Very good brew.

Pint on draught at the brewery one week after release. It pours a clear, honey-amber color with a thin, ecru-colored had and sheen of lacing. On the nose there is lite citrus and whiffs of tanngerine, peach, red berry, and floral hops. It has a fuller, richer taste than I anticipated. It opens malty with heavy biscuit in the background. Over that there is tart lemon and hints of berry and honeysuckle. There is a good dose of bitterness (45 IBU) throughout and at the finish. It's dryer and less juicy than many currently locally-brewed APAs. The mouth feel is surprisingly thick and creamy for the 5.5% ABV and it has a good level of carbonation. Overall, Bull N Bear puts its own spin on all of its beers and Pyramid Pale Ale is no exception. It's full-bodied, dry, and not overly fruity. It drinks like an American IPA.
