Bull N Bear Brewery

Pint on draught at the brewery. It pours a slightly hazy, golden-honey color with a small ecru-colored head and minimal lacing. The smell is spot-on with sweet malt, grain, and a whiff of berry. Bull n Bear’s beers typically have a depth of flavor and Liqidator is no exception. It opens with toasted brown bread with notes of honey, caramel, and chocolate. There are fruity esters which are hard to identify but to my taste there is a hint of red berry. It features a nice bitter, hoppy bite with a touch of pepper and spice at the finish. The mouth feel is moderately bitter and creamy and pleasantly carbonated. The 7% ABV gives it good substance. Overall, Liquidator is a fine rendition of the style. For New Jersey BA’s, Liquidator is less sweet but hoppier than Ramstein’s Maibock and the berry notes set it apart.
