On draught at the brewery. For a draught pour it's very attractive: nearly black with almost a finger of fluffy, light mocha-colored head and lacing. The subdued nose includes roasted malt, coffee, nutty char, and a whiff of chocolate and anise. The taste is spot on with lots of dry malt, burnt coffee, charred nuts, and a hint of licorice. There is little hop bitterness. On the tip of the tongue there is a touch of chocolate that adds balancing sweetness. It's full-flavored. The mouth feel is lite and crisp with pleasant carbonation, and at 5.2% ABV it drinks very easily. Overall, I'm always happy when a brewery produces a Schwarzbier and as I would expect Bull N Bear has done a very good job. This is a fine example of the style.
