On draught at the brewery. Served in a Pilsner glass. It is a clear, bright golden color with a small, ecru cap and minimal lacing. A sedate nose; mostly lemon peel, sweet malt, and a whiff of spice. But the taste is impressive: big and bold for the style with a firm, slightly sweet, malt base balanced against tart lemon. But what stands out is the spice and hop bitterness. There is a strong bite throughout. The Hallertau, Tettnang, and Saaz hops really shine. The mouth feel is fuller than the Bohemian variant and it is super-drinkable at 5% ABV. Overall, Paid Up is a great German Pilsner. It is bigger and bolder than Bull N Bear's Bohemian version, P&L. A very fine beer that I look forward to enjoying frequently.
