How well versed are you in German beers? Über well versed? Extremely well wurst? Educate yourself a little more with this copper hued, malty treasure of a Märzen. This traditional style drinks extremely clean, with rich melanoidins, notes of pumpernickel bread, and carefully balanced noble hop spice and bitterness. It’s the perfectly toasty way to toast the Radiant Oktoberfest weekend.

Handsome clear coppery color but minimal foam in the wine glass. Bright leafy aroma with alfalfa, straw, and green beans with a whiff of leaf mold. Bready taste with a toasted edge. Some warm malt to start and a dry finish. Resiny hop taste leaves some bitterness. Roasted grain and a leafy astringency that seems to grow as you sip. Overall this is interesting but it's quite hoppy and off-kilter to my taste buds. From the 16 oz can.

Pours a clear, amber color. Thick, four finger tan head forms on the beer before dissipating. Not much in the way of residual head remains on the beer. Aroma has notes of grain, sweet caramel malts, mild nuttiness. with some light spicy hop notes on the back end.
Taste has notes of grain, caramel malts, nutty earthy malty notes giving way to some earthy, spicy hop notes on the back end. I was expecting more sweetness based on the caramel notes on the nose, but its just not there. I am getting a slight fruity twang note from the beer thats interesting. It ends up having a spicier characteristic to the profile. Feel is medium bodied, smooth, with moderate carbonation. Dry finish.
Overall an interesting märzen - its not quite a traditional märzen, but its not really an American Oktoberfest either.

Extremely (overly) aggressive center pour into a liter mug resulted in a crazy amount of seafoam-esq head. The loose foam took plenty of time to recede to a thin layer / ring of loosely formed foam, leaving behind excellent lacing. Color is a really nice amber with great clarity. Overall, very good looking beer.
Aroma has loads of clean, bready malts that burst from the glass. On the tongue this is fairly dry with less malt / sweetness than implied from the nose. There's a nice toasty element to this that adds to the overall experience. Clean and very drinkable. Feel is medium bodied and fairly smooth.
Overall, a really nice beer that I'd gladly keep on hand at all times if possible.
