I like these guys but this was a miss. I guess they had to put out the obligatory "batch 100."
Canned fresh the week of January 17, 2022.
Consumed February 26th.
Kind of a pulpy mess with a muted orange hue, some large white bubbles attempted to form a cohesive head, but alas it was not to be. Low retention and lacing.
Smell started off citrusy. Some creamy grain popped in for a second but made way for some zippy, almost boozy, fruit notes that were at times tropical leaning, but then seemed more grassy.
Flavor is just a little better. the citrus and grain take the lead. A slight, crackery note come in as well. But there's warmth here that carries the citrus notes away from the lemon zest meets grapefruit toward a muddled, generically, tropical note.
Overall, I'm just not getting this one.
