On The Engine at Betjeman's Arms gastropub. A grand setting for a small beer. Betjeman, the poet, inspired the movement to save St. Pancras station, a glorious example of Gothic Revival when trains became really big in the 1870s. Not only has it been restored beautifully, but it has a great shopping mall below the trains. Saving St. Pancras was heroic and now it serves as terminus for international trains to and from France, Brussels and Amsterdam.

As for Small Beer's Pale, it almost matched the quality of the setting... just much smaller. And while it Looks average (too pale and could be more lively), Small Smells subtly like good English pales do. Its Tastes where even better with a balanced beginning and finally a finish with gently lingering hops. Almost medium-mouthed.

I'll have this again when I go to eat at Betjeman Arms. Cheers !
