Glass: Melvin 14-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $3.49
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: March 31, 2021
Consumed: April 7, 2021
Misc.: No canned on date
Saw this at Windmill Farms and another version (Mosaics only) that is a Hazy IPA, which I gave a 3.35. I’d generally liked the previous ones I tried (before the hazy one) so I was in for this one (Mosaic certainly didn’t hurt). Their website called it “Double Dry Hopped Single Hops West Cost IPA brewed with 100% Mosaic Hops.”
Poured a light amber clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Plenty of bubble streams coming up from the bottom and sides of the glass. World-class foamy spiderweb lacing. World-class retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled Mosaic, mango, pine, stone fruit, mixed berry, grapefruit, herbal and grass. A little better out of the can. (Smell - 3.50)
Taste was about as good as the nose. Got Mosaic, pine, black pepper, mixed berry, mango, stone fruit, grapefruit, herbal, grass, spoiled fruit and even some butterscotch? (Taste - 3.50)
Medium body. Creamy-to-oily texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Bitter finish. (Feel - 3.50)
Just a good beer overall, but like Embolden Simply Mosaic this one wasn’t what I hoped it would be. (Overall - 3.50)
