Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England IPA
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. Teku glass
Price: $3.49
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Feb. 12, 2021
Consumed: Feb. 13, 2021
Misc.: Canned on Jan. 19, 2021
Got this and way too many beers on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Had heard of Embolden but this would be my first beer from them. Nice to see them canning already. Looks like it was a double dry-hopped IPA with Nectaron (one of my favorite new hops).
Poured a medium yellow hazy color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky white head. Could see some bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Excellent uneven lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled Nectaron, skunky resin, dank pine, peach, nectarine, stone fruit and passion fruit. Almost more West Coast IPA-like than New England IPA. Even better out of the can and more like a New England IPA there. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted Nectaron, dank pine, skunky resin, peach skin, nectarine, stone fruit, passion fruit, grapefruit rind, pineapple, citrus zest and peppery spice. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
This seemed better than what I had it at. May have underrated this. (Overall - 4.00)
