Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American Pilsner
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (earth)
Price: $3.49
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Jan. 8, 2022
Consumed: Jan. 17, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Sept. 16, 2021
Went to Windmill Farms for some bread and a 6-pack of Enegren’s The Lightest One, and came back with nine other singles. Untappd description was “New Zealand Dry Hopped Pilsner brewed with Nelson Sauvin and Taiheke.” Still new to Taiheke, which had characteristics of tropical fruit, including grapefruit and lime.
Poured a medium yellow clear color with three fingers of rocky white head. Could see plenty of bubble streams coming up the sides of the glass toward the top. World-class foggy and foamy lacing. Excellent foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled peach, mango, Nelson, gooseberry, pineapple, white grape, lime and grass. Even better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted even better than the nose. In order got peach, mango, Nelson, gooseberry, pineapple, white grape, tangerine, lime, grass, hay and earthy pilsner malt. (Taste - 4.25)
Light body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Clean, crisp finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Just a lovely hoppy pilsner. Will be seeking out more of this for sure. (Overall - 4.25)
