Reviewed less than a week after canning. Poured into a pint glass. It is an opaque, dark tangerine with a half finger cap of fluffy, bright white foam and solid film of lacing. A big, bold nose featuring lemon, grapefruit, stone fruit, and some vanilla and coconut. This is delicious! An almost perfect balance of tart citrus, peach, pineapple, and creamy vanilla and shaved coconut. The Sabro hops really shine. As it warms a bit I notice some red berry from the Mosaic. There is just a ton of flavor. The mouth feel is exquisite; very plush and creamy with appropriate carbonation, and it drinks easily with a moderate ABV of 6.8%. Overall, A Place to Rest is a very well-crafted, flavorful American IPA that is an absolute pleasure to drink.

The Seed: A Living Beer Project "Extra Place To Rest"
on tap at the brewery on 11 August 2024
Notes: Brewed with Citra, Mosaic, and Sabro.
Look: The body is a very hazy golden in color beneath a finger's width of white foam that holds well and leaves some excellent lacing about the glass.
Smell: The aroma is fruity with berries and citrus, but also resinous, lightly floral, and softly herbal.
Taste: The flavor delivers even more fruitiness and the supporting malt is sweetish, oaty, and lightly wheaty. I'm getting notes of berry, peach, tangerine, lychee, gooseberry, and passion fruit. There's also some bubble gum, earthiness, pine, and herbs. It's clearly a New England Style IPA but there's enough bitterness that it's balanced.
Feel: In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp.
Overall: Well-brewed, well-balanced, and surprisingly complex. Highly enjoyable from start to finish.
