Drinking: Considering this is a blend, I was surprised this was so jet black and dense. Unsurprisingly, the head quickly disappeared and was reluctant to ever reemerge.
Aroma: Can smell a lot of barrel on this. Oaky cherry, sweet wood char, slight licorice, vanilla. Aroma is subtle, but increases as it warms.
Flavor: Massive pop of vanilla right off the bat. Doesn’t say any vanilla was added, but it’s hard to believe that strong of a flavor was only oak derived. Evolves into rich dark chocolate covered cherries, espresso and barrel tannin. Finishes a touch sweet with a slight artificial vanilla twinge.
Mouthfeel is soft and touch on the thin side, with some mouth-drying bitterness.
