Wanted to try this during my 2012 Cafe Abseits visit, but they were out. Not so during my most recent visit, with Alewife on 28SEP13. The 0.5l bottle was €6.00, and the bier has 16 IBUs, hopped with Willamette, Perle and Styrian Golding.
Poured into a small Weyermann chalice, it was a clear, golden honey color. Had slow, sparse carbo and a thin, wispy, white head. The topping mostly hung around the edges, with decent lacing. Aroma had tropical fruit notes and light sweetness. It passed rather smoothly over the tongue, and body-wise it was medium-plus.
Flavor also has tropical fruit present - pear, banana, green apple, a touch of mango and pineapple, plus a slight honeyish sweetness. Overall, though, it leaned a bit more to the bitter side than the sweet. Not bad overall, but I was expecting better. Prosit!!
