From the bottle, it pours a clear deep reddish brown color with a modest light tan head that slowly reduces. The nose gets a dose of malt with notes of caramel and roasted malt. The mouth gets a smooth feeling, ever so slightly caramel tasting roasted malt brew that is easy to drink.

Stopped into Cafe Abseits in Bamberg on 25SEP18 for dinner with my daughter Caitlin. Led of with a 0.33l bottle of this, for €4.50.
My small tulip held a clear, deep garnet colored libation. It had minimal carbo, and a thin, wispy beige head, with light lacework. Nose was malty, with toffee and caramel, plus a hint of nuttiness. Body was medium, and the feel was decent all the way through.
Like the nose, the flavor was also full of malty caramel and toffee. Also had a smidge of brown bread, with another nudge of nutty action. Finish had some light, floral hopping. A solid Doppelbock all around. Prosit!
