Shared 500 ml swingtop bottle, brought fresh from Germany by gunnar. ABV is 7.2%. Fruity sweetish aroma, esters more than hops, perhaps? - notes of green apples. Sweet flavour, the hops are there, but fairly moderate for an IPA. Not entirely successful.

500ml swingtop bottle shared at Braustelle on 4/10/2013. Color is burnt orange with no head, just an oily skim with a froth around the shoulders. Nose expresses some alcohol and a hint of candied fruits - not much of a hops character, but some grains come out. Taste is fairly malt-centric with some hoppy bitterness and a little fruitiness. There is also a light, toasted malt presence and an earthy bitterness that lingers between quaffs. Mouthfeel is light-medium with a slight oiliness and a carbonation that is just shy of prickly. Overall - an IPA from a maltster; enough said.

Visited cafe Abseits in Bamberg on 29SEP12. Saw this on their menu and had to try it. Oddly, I had a Weyermann Imperial/DIPA last year at 6.90% ABV, and this is a regular IPA at 7.10%. Odd, but anyhow... A 0.5l bottle cost me €6.00. A bit pricey, but wtf...
Poured into a small Weyermann tulip... It had a deep, solid apricot color, with some light haze. Head was light beige, rich and creamy at first then thinning fairly rapidly. Had sparse carbo within, with a bit of lace left behind. Aroma had citrus present, along with rindy bitterness. Overall the nose was a bit mild. Had a solid, medium body, with just a little roughness on the tongue.
Flavor had some subtle, mild sweetness at first, like apricot jam. Then it became rather rindy and pithy, with good citrus all around, though not over the top. Had a nice melding of bitter hoppiness and marmalade sweetness. Well done, Weyermann! Had me a second bottle for good measure. Prosit!!
