From Iron Hill's website...This strong German rye beer is a bigger version of the Roggenbier. It has a huge fruity nose of banana and cloves from the Bavarian ale yeast that marries with the notes of caramel from the German specialty malts, and a mild, spicy character from the rye.
Appears a cloudy, murky brown with a small, off-white head that fades into a mild cap with a small collar.
Smell is of bananas, cloves, caramel, cocoa, light apple, and dry rye.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with clove and pepper standing ontop of the estery yeast and dryness of the rye.
Mouthfeel is full bodied, yeasty, estery, and balanced with ripe bananas, caramel, yeasty dryness, and roasted nuts combining on the palate for a well done brew.
