Vooravond is a champagne-like Saison, co-fermented with Traminette grapes. This beer brings together the best of the Finger Lakes in an expression of gratitude for our past and hopefulness for the future.

Ample columns of fine carbonation dance within the clear, dark gold beer. A brief off-white head collapses to a blanket after reaching 3". No lace was left; however, the Pretentious Glass Co. Tulip magnified the loud crackling all the way down.
Musty grapes come to mind first, similar to a dry white wine. Pear and doughy yeast follow. After a few minutes it smells of fresh farmer's bread with coriander and faint pine resin.
Spicy white wine, with ginger and cardamom ride above the mildly tart beer. Sweetness spikes then the beer becomes fairly dry. A bit of a rollercoaster with each sip, and peculiar in this way. The finish is long, biting the throat with pepper and watercress.
Alcohol is quite prevalent, although the heat is mild. A light body and sharp satin texture, which a ton of fine carbonation that bursts forth with each sip.
This is a very interesting "Saison." The bottle states, "… gratitude for the past and hopefulness for our future." And this beer is clearly a new expression of what a Saison can be.
