On tap at Strangebird Brewery in Rochester, NY.
This one pours an effervescent looking straw yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells lightly oaky, with some slight vanilla, cantaloupe, orange peel, and grassiness.
This is an interesting weird little beer. I appreciate the light oakiness and sort of sort caramel and vanilla notes from the barreling. I’m not as convinced on the orange peel being the right move to add here, as the sort of citrusy melon vibes kind of flatten out the interesting biscuity and grassy notes from the base lager.
This is light bodied, clean, crisp, and pretty drinkable.
This wasn’t a completely successful experiment, but I still enjoyed it.
