another collaboration with shades, this time a bright and not too dense hazy ipa with a wonderful tropical fruit hop profile, passion fruit, ripe mango, juicy melon, sweet orange, fragrant lemongrass, all of it, fresh as can be, clean enough in terms of pellet hop greenness or yeasty residuals, and overall a drinkable and distinctive take on the style, quite well done, and a fine pairing with much of the delicious food on the menu in here. a pale orange look to this with a frothing white head, no sediment visible and still a little light coming in. i get a straight up fruit basket from the hops in aroma and flavor, peaches and cantaloupe, pineapple and coconut, passion fruit and papaya, its awesome, its juicy without being sweet, and more importantly, its intense without being overdone or harsh, a well executed and heavy handed dry hopping to be sure. smooth in feel, fluffy feeling and fuller and soft, suggesting some wheat malt in the mix, no real crystal malt character here, its lighter than that, and the finish is on the dry side adding to the already high drinkability created by the freshness and the low abv, which i appreciate every time i go to utah, even though i reckon most locals lament it. very low bitterness, high carbonation, and overall a very nice take on this style that fits well on their menu. they should keep this one around, it was among the best we tasted while we were at the brewery!
