a collaboration with kiitos this time, and a very authentic take on the style here, served in its proper glassware with a lovely slice of blood orange classing it up slightly, looks great in the glass, very frothy white headed in this glass, some haze, and lots of bubbles. the aroma is genuine, banana and clove and pepper spice from the yeast, light phenols but not running away with this, and i can smell the wheat too, fresh and earthy, a good grounding for these high tone yeast notes. the flavor matches the nose, lots of citrus to me too, maybe somewhat influenced by the fruit on the rim, but i get some honest orange and even lemon character to this, also nice against the rugged wheat. more of a green banana note than a ripe banana one from the yeast, some minerals in the mix too, and perhaps a little green grape fruitiness as well. its very cohesive overall, has a creamy and active texture that makes it real drinkable, and i think overall is extremely traditional and well executed. all of the beers we drank in here were spot on from a quality standpoint, and i look forward to getting back here and trying more of them, they seem to have an awesome thing going!
