they call this emotional support beer, which is funny, and they had it listed at 5.5% abv when i was in this weekend, new to me but looks like they have made it before. its a nice take on a style we dont see around enough, copper colored, light cloudiness to it, creamy off white head nearly an inch high from the tap, good carbonation visible, nice sort of rusty tone to it. aroma of english malts right away fresh, subtle toast and even cedar wood to me, nice with the old world ale yeast, subtle sweetness, and mild astringency, seems pretty classic to me, good minerality, its all here. some breadiness to the flavor, modest bitterness but not really hop flavored to me, mid palate sweetness, bread crusts, pretzel dough, warm and hearty without being heavy or autumnal, and the ferment is classic, you either like this kind of thing or you dont, and i definitely do. i think its a pretty faithful take, off dry with some light yeasty twang at the end, a bit nutty as well, almost healthful feeling to me, simple in a good way, drinkable for sure, and nice with spicy food, in my case the inferno level salsa from the food truck they have here, man was that hot one hot, and the beer held up well in this context. nice to see some classic styles on the menu this visit, these guys are on a roll right now, another great session here yesterday!

On-tap at the downtown Meridian location. Beautifully clear copper with a cap of khaki foam...simple breads and malts on the nose, some sweetness, light earthy pop of dry bitterness...simple, fine.

Short pour at brewery. Cloudy amber pour, spotty fine beige head, ring, solid lacing. Light malty aroma, dark bread. Taste is malty and sweet, dry, abrupt finish. A little on the watery side.
