a new mexican lager here named after the taco truck they have permanently parked outside, a fine idea, but far and away the least impressive of the several beers we had in here this past weekend, thin, without the crispness i was after in a light lager type, and a little bit of a chemical thing to it, cheap in an unflattering way, but when its nice and frosty cold it scratches the itch well enough i suppose, its at temperature where its less good, and despite the obvious synergy, i found a few other beers in here i liked with the world class salsa flight this truck serves better than this one, which shouldnt be, but its true. incredibly light looking beer, very slight haze to it, less than yellow, fizzy and with about an inch of head on it when its poured at the bar, closer to no head at all by the time i get it back to my seat, but it stays bubbly the whole time. aroma of light sweetness, maybe some corn in it, a light detergent thing too though, not as clean on the lagering as hoped for, maybe the lime i refused would help pick it up a little bit, i get some light astringency anyway, very very mild beer overall it seems, but its certainly imperfect, maybe a light lemon note, some crackery grain, not much to it really, an out of place ester element late. the flavor is the same, light mexican lager all the way, but the ferment isnt doing it any favors and there is a thinness as well, it just doesnt quite deliver, not neutral in the places it should be, not brisk and refreshing, even with the nice carbonation, and sort of a rare miss for these guys recently, everything has been solid but this one came up short in the very simple task of being a mindless sunny patio drinker. does not drink crafty and high quality, and is not as predictable and polished as the imports in this style space. i had way higher hopes for this, they are capable of better. not always a ton of lighter beer options in here so i was ready for this to become a staple, but its in need of some revising still at this point...

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
