Cantina Errante "Nonsangio 2021"
375 ml brown glass bottle with cork & cage; "consumare preferibilmente entro / best before: 12/27 lotto/batch: .080".
Sampled on 26 November 2025
Notes via stream of consciousness: A hazy golden body displays plenty of fine bubbles rising steadily within. The aroma suggests acidity, earth, and a bit of mineral as well as grape. It's vinous and interesting. On to the taste... it's sweeter than I thought it would be, and grainier. The tartness is not so strong that it distracts. There's a bit of a cardboard and leather character to it, and of course, the Sangiovese grape. I'm getting more wood (ahh, I see that it's aged in oak), some apple and pear, and some light crushed granite. It's not bitter, nor would I expect it to be, but it's acidic and that gives it a dry finish. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp with some additional zestiness from the acidity. I'm not sure how this could be a lot better in terms of flavor.
