Poured from can into pint glass: color is straw, clear, brighter white head, head presents one finger thick, head dissipates to solid top, limited lacing.

Smell is biscuit malt, light toast, hops are earth and grass, hint of citrus.

Taste is more forward malt, earth/grass/herbal hops.

Mouthfeel is low/moderate carbonation, low/moderate sweetness, lower to moderate bitterness.

Overall, good malt backing, moderate hops.

Not as clear as a typical Pilsner but has a nice finish that is welcomed from a usual IPA drinker.

Picked this up at a Total Wine in Tempe recently when I was out in Arizona back in May. Was drawn to this because of the label, the style, and the fact that I never had anything from this brewery before as this turned out to be a fun, mellow, and pleasant surprise. No, this wouldn't win any awards but it was a nice take on the style that had a hidden alcoholic content and was fitting for the Grand Canyon State!

No surprise that this had a muted, brassy hue to it with a bit of haze to it and a nice, full head that topped it off. Lots of bread and a bit of grain in the muted nose, with some Noble Hops underneath that. The taste had some lemon, spice, apple, and pear that was muted, but persistent, as this had a full and sticky body to it with a moderate slickness that lingered on the palate with lacing that was thick and clumped along the top half of my Pilsner glass. The carbonation was light and there was some herbal and tea spice in the aftertaste that complemented the hops nicely, as this was quite filling and almost felt like a meal in a can.

The alcohol was spot-on as the fruit, funk, bread, and body were enough to hide whatever booze was in this. A light amount of weed and deep, earthy pine was in the aftertaste as this had a nice complexity to it, for a beer of this style. No date was printed on the bottom of the can, but that was this brew's only drawback. Enjoyed having it as this was a good first impression from Greenwood!
