Pint on draught at the brewery. It pours a murky, dark iced tea color; a bit lighter than usual for the style. It boasts a foamy, ecru-colored head and exquisite, thick lacing. A very attractive pour. The smell features the expected malt and caramel but with lite citrus and floral hops. The taste is really unique: it opens with a rush of bitter Galaxy hops and significant lemon, lime, and a hint of grapefruit. But as it warms there is increasing roasted malt and caramel. Nonetheless, it finishes with more hoppy bitterness than expected. It's medium-bodied with an appropriate level of carbonation, and at 6.5% ABV it's bigger than most ESBs I've drank. Overall, Incoming is a unique take on the ESB style. I'd describe it as a hybrid of a traditional ESB and an English IPA with a nod to a West Coast IPA. It's thoroughly enjoyable and I intend to drink it as often as it's available at Glenbrook.
